CapivaraOS comes in three flavors — and the right choice depends on what you want from your computer. Marsh, Pup and Snout share the same base, the same wallpapers and the same philosophy. What changes is the desktop environment — and that changes quite a lot.
Marsh — KDE Plasma
Marsh is the original CapivaraOS spin. It runs KDE Plasma, one of the most complete and customizable desktop environments in the Linux world. It ships with a global menu and a dock, delivering a polished, integrated experience right out of the box.
It's the best choice for users who want a full-featured desktop that looks great without having to configure anything.

Pup — Xfce
Pup is the lightest spin in the family. Xfce is a proven, fast and efficient environment — perfect for those who need performance on modest hardware, or who simply prefer a no-frills desktop.
Even being lightweight, Pup keeps CapivaraOS's full visual identity: same wallpapers, same logo, same theme.

Snout — GNOME
Snout ships stock Fedora Workstation GNOME — no layout customizations, no dock, no third-party extensions. Just CapivaraOS's visual identity on top. It's the spin closest to upstream, ideal for those who want Fedora GNOME with the project's look.
- Best for: users familiar with GNOME or those who prefer a standard, predictable experience
